Glossary

Contributor: Refers to the developer of an ML system. A contributor has to interact with the code of the ML system and all the other aspects that this entails.

User: Refers to anyone who interacts with the ML system and is not a contributor.

ML Lifecycle: Refers to the cyclical process which involves the stages of an ML system's development, including but not limited to: problem formulation, data collection, feature engineering, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, maintenance.

ML System: The software which encompasses all the stages of the ML lifecycle. Not to be confused with the ML model which is an artifact of the ML system.
